EXPLORING SCIENCE
Exploring Science class this Thursday February 2nd will be about the dangers of volcanic eruptions. We will look at the types of volcanoes and the dangers they pose. The movie part will show incredible views of eruptions.
Come see samples of various forms of volcanic rocks formed during eruptions in Hawaii. You can even see Pelee’s hair and tears. I will also bring two artifacts recovered from the ash flow in Pompei from the Mt. Vesuvius eruption in 79 CE. Some questions we hope to answer are:
- What kinds of volcanoes are located in Oregon and
Washington? - How dangerous are they? - Is our area in danger?
Join us Thurs. Feb. 2nd at 10:30 in the Astoria Senior Center.
